Google has officially launched its AI-powered search feature, AI Mode, for all users across India. After testing it for a few weeks with a small group of users, the company announced it’s now rolling out the feature to all Google Search users across the country without any sign-up required. The tech giant, in its blog post, has said that the feature has received a positive user response since its limited debut in English. The AI Mode is a custom version of Gemini 2.5, that will offer detailed answers to complex queries. It will allow users to explore a wide range of topics and receive step-by-step guidance on various subjects—all within a single search.

Google AI mode in search rolling out
Google has removed the need for users to sign up via Search Labs to access AI Mode. Now, the feature is accessible to all users signed into their Google accounts. However, it is inaccessible in incognito mode or when users are logged out.

The newly added AI Mode will not only support text queries but will also offer a hands-free way to interact by responding to audio prompts. Additionally, the feature is integrated with Google Lens, allowing users to input images into the search and get the required information. The new AI mode in search will offer a comprehensive response with helpful links, along with follow-up questions.

How to enable Google AI mode in search
On the desktop, the AI Mode button is positioned just below the search bar on the results page, alongside other tabs like “All,” “Images,” and “News.” All you need to do is turn on the “AI Mode” under the Search lab tab, and you’re all set to access the new feature.
