Forget iPhone 16, iPad Mini 7 might also make its debut at Apple’s Glowtime event
Apple might bring back the iPad Mini 7 after a three-year-long wait.
As per Gurman, various Apple stores have reported that they have low stocks of the current iPad mini models.
According to the leaks, the iPad Mini 7 can be powered by Apple’s A18 chipset.
Apple has announced the dates for its upcoming event. It will host “Glowtime” on September 9. During the event, Apple will obviously drop the new iPhone 16 series, iOS 18, and other stuff. But along with that, reports suggest that Apple will also launch the iPad Mini 7 during the same event.
Apple might bring back the iPad Mini 7 after a three-year-long wait. The last iPad Mini 6 was unveiled in 2021. And now during the Glowtime event, it can unveil its successor. Apple analyst Mark Gurman shared this on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Many Apple stores are low on stock of the iPad mini in several configs, while the device is considered “constrained” internally within Apple, I’m told. That *could* be a sign a new one is coming. It hasn’t been updated since 2021. Wouldn’t be surprised to see it updated for AI.

As per Gurman, various Apple stores have reported that they have low stocks of the current iPad mini models. Internal descriptions are labeling these iPad Mini 6s as “constrained.” If previous trends are to be believed, this shortage hints at a new product launch.
iPad Mini 7 expected specifications
As per rumours and leaks, the iPad Mini 7 can be powered by Apple’s A18 chipset. This not only promises a boost in performance, but it will also offer new AI features. This can include an improved Siri, Genmoji, and Image Playground.
It is also expected that Apple will resolve the “jelly scrolling” issue this time with the new iPad Mini 6. Also, this time we can get a landscape-oriented front camera. It can also support the Apple Pencil Pro.
What could be the price?
The iPad Mini 7 can be priced at $499, which is similar to the iPad Mini 6. In India, the iPad Mini 6 was launched at Rs 45,900. So, similar prices can be expected. This time we can get an upgraded base storage option of 128GB, up from the 64GB offered in the current version.
Let’s take this news with a pinch of salt for now and wait for September 9. Stay tuned for all the updates!
