In the screenshot, we can see Flipkart stating “We are liable to compensate our sellers and logistics partner for the cost, time, and effort they incur while processing an order. Hence, for certain products, we will now charge a cancellation fee after the free cancellation window.”
Customers can currently cancel their orders without incurring any fees, but it appears that they may soon be required to pay fees, depending on the order value.
Furthermore, there are rumors that customers will only have a limited amount of time to cancel their orders. After that deadline is crossed, the customers will not be able to cancel the order. However, the e-commerce giant has not confirmed the development yet.
In another post shared by the tipster, Flipkart is showcasing the time limit to cancel the order. “You now have a limited time window to cancel your orders on Flipkart,” he wrote. The screenshot clearly states that Flipkart is allowing a certain time window for the users to cancel their orders.
It appears that the company is working on a new strategy to optimise the cost of returns and fraud. There was no mention of the product exchange or return policies, at the time of writing this article. We contacted the Flipkart team for more information, and we will update the copy as we learn more about the new policies and regulations.
