Asus Pad T3201 has officially launched in India with the Taiwanese giant confirming the India pricing and sale date earlier today. The Asus Pad T3201 marks the company’s return to the Android tablet market and its headline feature is its 12.2-inch OLED display. What makes it worthy of consideration is the rarity of an OLED tablet in the sub-Rs 50,000 segment in India. Most OLED tablets are priced closer to a lakh and simply do not exist in the affordable price range and that is where the Asus Pad comes in to bridge the gap. The Asus Pad T3201 measures 6.5 mm and weighs 523 g and has a fiberglass rear panel. It is available in Pure White colour only. It features a 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED panel with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,840 pixels in a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 92% screen-to-body ratio, which makes it well suited for productivity work alongside entertainment. The 3:2 ratio provides more vertical space than the 16:9 widescreen panels common in most media-focused tablets, reducing the letterboxing effect when reading documents or browsing the web. Asus claims a typical brightness of 600 nits with peak brightness rated at 2,000 nits. The panel is TUV-certified for Low Flicker and Low Blue Light and supports the Asus Pen 2.0 stylus.
The Asus Pad is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 which is an octa-core chipset clocked at up to 3.35 GHz, paired with 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. It is available in 128 GB and 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage configurations which is further expandable via microSD up to 1 TB. The connectivity suite includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and the USB-C port is USB 3.0 with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0 support.
The Asus Pad has a quad-speaker system tuned for Dolby Atmos 360° spatial audio, with each speaker rated for a combined 4 W output.
The T3201 is equipped with a 9,000 mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging, reaching 50% in approximately 30 minutes. The rear camera is a 13 MP sensor with an LED flash. The front camera is 5 MP with Face Unlock support, primarily intended for video calls and online classes.
The Asus Pad T3201 ships with Android 16 and supports Circle to Search. The GlideX application enables file sharing and screen mirroring between the tablet and Windows, macOS, Android and iOS devices over USB or Wi-Fi. Meanwhile, the Asus Pen 2.0 and Bluetooth keyboard support turn the tablet into a basic productivity device, though these accessories are sold separately. A protective folio case is included in the box, which is a welcome move given that accessories of this type typically cost Rs 2,000-4,000 separately.
