A report published in The Information, reveals a slew of features when it comes to Apple’s new Mixed Reality Headset. AR and VR offerings are the next big thing in tech, what with the Metaverse already selling space to huge brands and conglomerates, and technology related to the same is highly intriguing as we can expect a lot of major developments now and in the years to come. In the same vein, some of the specifications listed by The Information are rather unheard of.
Apple Mixed Reality Headset specifications (alleged)
The Information has published a huge list of exciting features of the Apple Mixed Reality Headset. Some of these include:
- Build: The mixed reality headset is said to be made of a mix of aluminium, carbon fibre and glass (for the display). The build has been reportedly created in a way that conceals the cameras on the headset.
- Field of View: The device allegedly offers a 120-degree field of view which should contribute to creating an extremely immersive experience
- Battery life: It is claimed to offer 1-2 hours of endurance.
- In-built speakers: The device could arrive with various headbands, with a sporty option that has built-in speakers. There’s also apparently a headband that’s specifically made for developers, however, that’s all we know about it.
- Adjustable lenses: The lenses could be adjusted to accommodate an individual’s interpupillary distance. Users could also attach magnetic prescription lenses to do away with the need for wearing glasses.
- Digital Crown interface: The Digital Crown interface could be leveraged to use pass-through functionality.
- Low Latency: The headset could have the H2 chipset we’ve already seen in the AirPods Pro 2 to ensure low latency.
- High-end specs: The headset is likely to leverage technology already used by Apple, such as the image signal processor, GPU, SoC, and so on to create an immersive pass-through effect.
- App Compatibility: The headset should be compatible with App Store apps and they may be displayed in 2D.
