Apple has begun sending out invitations for its Worldwide Developers Conference 2026, better known as WWDC 2026. The annual developer gathering is among the company’s most closely watched events, serving as the stage where the Cupertino-based tech giant unveils the next generation of software experiences for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and other devices.
With artificial intelligence continuing to dominate the conversation across the tech industry, Apple is widely expected to place AI-driven features at the centre of this year’s keynote. But AI may not be the only major talking point. Rumours also suggest sweeping interface refinements and significant upgrades to Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant, signalling what could be one of the company’s biggest software overhauls in recent years.
Invitations to the WWDC26 opening keynote have already started reaching developers, members of the media and select creators. The keynote will be held at Apple Park in California. Apple WWDC 2026: What do we know
Apple will kick off Worldwide Developers Conference 2026 with the Keynote on June 8 at 10AM PDT (10:30PM IST). The annual developer conference will run through June 12 and is expected to showcase major updates across Apple platforms, alongside new AI features and developer tools.
The Keynote and Platforms State of the Union sessions, scheduled for 1 p.m. PDT (1:30 a.m. IST on June 9), will be streamed live through Apple’s website, Developer app, and YouTube channel. Apple will also host more than 100 technical sessions during the week, covering topics including Apple Intelligence, machine learning, graphics, and design.
Furthermore, developers will be able to participate in Group Labs and interact with Apple engineers through online sessions and forums. The company will also welcome more than 1,000 developers, designers, and students to Apple Park for an in-person experience during WWDC 2026 week.

Apple WWDC26: What to expect
Apple has been tight-lipped about the details regarding the upcoming announcements at its WWDC 2026. However, leaks and rumours suggest that there can be several changes in the upcoming software from Apple, whether it be for the iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches or others.
The Cupertino tech giant has been quietly working on upgrading its voice assistant and providing it with AI superpowers through a ‘Siri 2.0’ overhaul in iOS 27. If the leaks are to be trusted, then Apple Siri is likely to get a massive upgrade, and it will no longer be a voice assistant but rather act like a smart chatbot with its own dedicated app interface and a new animation centred around the Dynamic Island.
Furthermore, it’s also expected to understand what is on your screen, support cross-app actions, and answer questions using your personal context. The Camera app will also likely get a highly customisable, widget-based advanced layout featuring a dedicated Siri camera mode for Visual Intelligence.
Other than that, macOS 27 is also anticipated to receive subtle design tweaks to soften the ‘Liquid Glass’ interface, reducing aggressive transparency and fixing shadow effects to make text easier to read. Along with an option called ‘Organise Tabs’ to automatically organise your open tabs based on how you use them in the default Safari browser, which will also feature a brand new four-tab start page.
In the wearable department, Apple will focus on incremental updates for watchOS 27, like including the new watch faces and deeper integration with phone features. Rumours also suggest that Apple will likely show visionOS 3 as the next big upgrade for its headset.
