Apple October event 2026 date announced: HomePad mini, new Apple TV and more to expect from Welcome Home showcase

Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has officially sent invites for its upcoming “Welcome home” event, which is scheduled for October 13, 2026. The iPhone maker is expected to announce a range of devices at the tech show, including a smart home hub with a display, a new HomePod mini and an upgraded Apple TV 4K set-top box, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported earlier. These devices will reportedly be part of Apple’s revamped smart home strategy to counter the dominance of Google and Amazon in this category.

Apart from the new smart home hub, the tech giant is expected to refresh the HomePod mini for the first time since 2020 and the Apple TV box after 2022. These two products are expected to have a design similar to their current iterations but with likely get faster chipsets. Besides the hardware upgrades, the smart speaker is expected to arrive in green and pink shades, Gurman reported earlier. All three products will rely on AI-powered Siri voice assistant for interactions.

The home hub is expected to get a 6-inch display and offer profile-based configuration for multiple users within a home. These could include customised experiences on FaceTime, news, calendar, voice-based experiences and more. It could debut in two iterations: wall-mountable and a table-top trim (which could get a half-dome base like the old iMac G4).

Moreover, the smart home hub may have a camera and a sensor to detect people and optimise the experience with custom apps and widgets by recognising a user. MacRumors speculate the smart home hub could start around $350. However, readers shoudl note that Apple has not shared any official details about the expected products and updates at the “Welcome Home” event.
