Anthropic has already stated that the company has been proactive in the AI ecosystem and has been introducing a variety of handy tools. Now, the company wants to anticipate your needs before you even know what they are. According to a TechCrunch report, Anthropic executive Cat Wu, who leads product for Claude Code and Cowork at Anthropic, said the company is more focused on staying at the technological frontier rather than reacting to rivals like OpenAI.

As per her, AI models are continuing to improve at an extremely fast pace and Anthropic wants its products to evolve along with the growth instead of chasing competitor announcements. This comes at a time when Anthropic is already holding a strong momentum in the enterprise AI market.

The reports also suggest that the company is preparing for a major funding round, which can value higher than OpenAI. Claude has also reportedly gained popularity among business users, especially in coding and workplace productivity tasks.

Coming to the most interesting fact, Wu also stated that the future of AI agents in workplaces. She also suggested that the next stage of AI development will revolve around proactive systems that understand a user’s workflow and automatically set up tasks or automations without needing repeated instructions. Instead of only responding to prompts, future AI assistants may anticipate needs based on work patterns and routines.

Talking about concerns around AI replacing jobs, Wu argued that humans will still need deep sleep expertise to manage and supervise AI systems effectively. She compared managing AI agents to managing employees, where people still need to understand workflows, identify mistakes and correct errors when needed.

Anthropic has aggressively expanded Claude’s capabilities over the last year, particularly in coding-related tools such as Claude Code. The company has continued releasing new models and AI features at a rapid pace, while also experimenting with more restricted deployments for sensitive cybersecurity focused models like Mythos under its Glasswing initiative.
