5 ways to improve AC efficiency and reduce electricity bills during summer season
It is advised to keep AC's temperature between 24 degrees celsius and 26 degrees celsius.
Use smart features like Sleep Mode, Timer and Eco Mode.
Regular servicing helps your AC run smoothly and efficiently.
As the temperature rises during summer, most of us rely on air conditioners to stay cool. While ACs help us beat the heat, they can also increase electricity bills if they are not used properly. Well, the good thing is that you don’t have to stop using your AC to save money. A few simple habits and small changes can help reduce electricity usage while still keeping your home cool. Here are five easy ways to make your AC more efficient and reduce electricity costs.
SurveySet right temperature
One of the easiest ways to save electricity is by setting the AC at the right temperature. It is advised to keep the temperature between 24 degrees celsius and 26 degrees celsius. If you set the AC at very low temperatures, the compressor has to work harder, which increases power usage.

Clean AC filters regularly
Dirty filters can block airflow and make the AC work harder. When this happens, cooling becomes slower and the AC uses more electricity. It is advised to clean the filters every two weeks. If your area is dusty, it’s better to check them more often.
Cleaning filters is easy. You just have to remove them, wash them with water, let them dry completely and then put them back.

Use smart features
Many new generation air conditioners come with features, like Sleep Mode, Timer and Eco Mode. Sleep Mode adjusts the temperature automatically at night so the room doesn’t get too cold. Timer turns the AC off automatically after a set time. On the other hand, the Eco Mode maintains moderate cooling while using less power.
Keep your room properly sealed
If hot air enters your room from outside, the AC will have to work harder to cool the space. To prevent this, keep doors and windows closed while the AC is running. Using thick curtains or blinds can also block sunlight and reduce heat inside the room.
Get regular AC maintenance
Regular servicing helps your AC run smoothly and efficiently. An annual service usually includes checking the gas level, cleaning the condenser coils, inspecting the fan and blower, checking electrical connections, and adjusting the thermostat.
