Microsoft has laid its cards on the table. We have the India release date and price of the Xbox Series S and Series X. Sony may have released the design of the PS5 but there is still a lot we don't know about the PS5 or the PS5 Digital Edition. We don't know the connectivity options at the back. We don't know how big it is in the real world and most importantly, we don't know how much it will cost and when it will be available. Hopefully, we will get the answer to some of these questions tonight.
On the PlayStation Blog, Sony says, “Before PlayStation 5 launches this holiday, we wanted to give you one more look at some of the great games coming to PS5 at launch (and beyond!). Our next digital showcase will weigh in at around 40 minutes, and feature updates on the latest titles from Worldwide Studios and our world-class development partners”. You can watch the live stream of the event below.
In addition to the games and gameplay, we hope Sony will announce a launch date and price for the console. Information circulating the internet suggests the console could be priced at $449 (Rs 33,200 approx. directly converted) and the PS5 Digital Edition could be priced at $400 (Rs 29,500 approx. directly converted). There is no information on an India price for the console, but expect it to be competitively priced when compared to the Xbox Series X.
As for the games, we can expect to see gameplay from some of the confirmed games like Spider-Man Miles Morales, Deathloop, Dirt 5 and many more.
When Sony announced the specifications of the PS5, the company said that storage for the console would be expandable by using off the shelf M.2 storage drive. We hope to see some more news about this as well. With the PS5 on the horizon, it is interesting to see the journey of the PS4 in India. You can read more about the PS4’s journey in India here.
