Resident Evil Village is set to launch on May 7 on all platforms

Fans have been eagerly waiting for more information from Capcom’s Resident Evil Village and the gaming gods have answered your prayers. Capcom showed off a ton of gameplay and even released a demo for the PS5 last night, giving us a good look at the upcoming survival horror title. Resident Evil has been a franchise that was in desperate need of a refresh and got it in the form of the excellent Resident Evil 7. The game went from a fixed camera angle to an actual First person horror game and according to a lot of fans, really took the game back to its horror roots. So, with that in mind, here’s what you can expect from Resident Evil Village.

The showcase began with a short trailer that gave us a good look at what the game was all about. You play as the protagonist of the previous game, Ethan Winters as he makes his way through a large and ominous mansion being chased by vampires and even werewolves. We also got a good look at some combat mechanics with Ethan facing off against a few werewolves and against wielding a freaking hammer! Are we going full-on Dark Souls up in here?

We are also introduced to the villains in the game in the form of a large and mysterious woman who literally has Freddy Krueger blade fingers! From what we can see, she and her daughters are some kind of vampires that are hunting Ethan. There are the usual suspects in the various puzzles and large cavernous levels, and we even catch a glimpse of a new villain at the end of the trailer. It all looks amazing on the RE Engine as well.

The PS also received a demo of the game called Maiden. We’ve got a small guide on how to download the game on your PS5 as well. You can check that out here.

So, are you guys excited for more Resident Evil? The game releases on May 7 for the PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One!
