Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance launching on Feb 21 for PS3 and Xbox 360
HIGHLIGHTS

The next chapter in the Metal Gear franchise, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will hit store shelves on February 21 for the Xbox 360 and the PS3, for Rs. 3,499.

The current console generation is nearing the end of its lifecycle and we still have a lot of awesome games that are yet to release for the system. One of our most anticipated games of the year, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, now has a release date and a price tag. The game will be available on store shelves on February 21 and will be priced at a whopping Rs. 3,499. The game is up for preorder on Flipkart at Rs. 3999.

Those of you that want some hands on time with the game can check out the demo, which will be available for free on PSN and Xbox Live on January 23. The demo will give gamers a taste of the stealth as well as action elements of the game. Gamers will be able to play through three levels in the demo.

If you have been hibernating somewhere for the past two years, let us give you a brief of the upcoming game. It is set in Metal Gear timeline between Metal Gear Solid 2 and 4 (MGS 3 was a prequel to the entire series so please don’t get confused). You don the role of Raiden, the same lead protagonist from MGS 2. The game is being developed by Platinum Games, under the supervision of Kojima Productions.

Raiden, was once feared as the child soldier “Jack the Ripper” during the First Liberian Civil War. Now, he possesses a cyborg body and a high-frequency blade to slice and take down anything that stands in his way.

We are excited to get our hands on the demo of the game as it will give us a taste of the direction in which Platinum games has taken the franchise. Platinum Games have made some games in the past that have impressed us. These incudes the fast passed action shooter, Bayonetta and the third person futuristic war shooter, Vanquish.

In the past we have seen many games priced really high such as Call of Duty Black ops II at Rs. 3,899 and many more. These prices are seriously exorbitant for games. When the PS3 and the 360 were launched, the average price for a game was Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,000. Then we saw an average price tag of Rs. 2500 for the most popular and anticipated games. Now that amount has nearly reached the Rs. 4000 mark, which is insane!
