Forza Horizon 6 PC specs revealed: What you need to run the game

Silent Hill f, Ghost of Yotei, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Japan has quietly become one of the most popular settings in modern games. Developers are increasingly drawn to the country’s rare mix of dense cities, long expressways, and winding mountain roads that shape gameplay rather than simply frame it. Even though racing games have explored Japan before, the Forza Horizon series has always taken its open-world festival elsewhere. But Forza Horizon 6 will change that. Set to launch in a couple of months, the next Horizon festival is one of the most anticipated entries in the franchise for fans eager to explore Japan through Playground Games’ lens. With the PC system requirements now revealed, here is what your setup needs to run the game.

Forza Horizon 6: Launch date, price, PC requirements

Japan has been at the top of the Horizon community’s wishlist for years, and with Forza Horizon 6, fans will finally get what they have long-asked for. The game launches on May 19, 2026 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. It will be available in Standard, Deluxe, and Premium editions, with the base game also launching day one on Game Pass Ultimate.

Premium buyers get early access and additional content, while pre-orders include an exclusive Ferrari J50. A PlayStation 5 version of the game is also planned for a later date. While Sony has not confirmed a release window yet, current expectations point toward the second half of 2026.

Coming to PC requirements, minimum specs reportedly include an Intel i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 1600 processor, 16GB RAM, and GPUs like the GTX 1650, RX 6500 XT, or Intel Arc A380. In addition to this, you will also need Windows 10 OS or later, DirectX 12 (DX12), and an SSD.

The PC requirements mean that most mid-range gaming PCs from the last few years should handle the game comfortably.

What’s new in Forza Horizon 6?

The map of Forza Horizon 6 will take players through the brightly lit streets of Tokyo and up into the misty mountain passes around Mount Fuji, promising a setting that naturally suits both high-speed racing and slower, more technical driving.

One of the more interesting additions is The Estate, a large plot of land set in a rural mountain valley. Instead of static player houses, this space lets you build structures, place decorations, and even design private racing tracks. It feels like a small but meaningful shift toward giving players ownership over their time in the game rather than funneling everyone through the same locations.

FH6 also embraces Japanese car culture more directly through Touge Battles. These are one-on-one races on narrow mountain roads at night, inspired by real-world street racing scenes.

Progression has been reworked as well. You start as a tourist and work your way up by earning coloured wristbands, a system that first appeared in the original Forza Horizon.
