Amazon Prime is getting games, and a new Batman title is coming soon

You can never have too many Batman games. And you can also never have too many Batman series. But what if we tell you that Amazon Prime now has the best of both worlds? Now only is a new season of Batman: The Caped Crusader kicking off on July 31, you will also be able to play an Amazon Prime exclusive Batman title on the same day. Yep, you heard that right. Prime is hopping on the gaming bandwagon and people across the world are intrigued. Here is all you need to know.

Amazon Prime is getting its own exclusive Batman game

The upcoming game is called Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles, and unlike the action-heavy Arkham games, this one is a co-op party game. In the game, up to four players work together as part of a special Gotham City Police Department task force.

So, instead of punching your way through Gotham, you will be investigating crimes, solving mysteries, questioning suspects, and completing detective-themed mini games across 11 episodic missions. Along the way, you will also come face to face with iconic Batman villains including Scarecrow, Babyface, Dollmaker, and even the Joker.

To make the experience feel more connected to the animated series, Hamish Linklater and Michelle C. Bonilla will reprise their roles as Batman and Detective Montoya in the game.

About Amazon Prime entering gaming

The Batman title is also part of a much bigger announcement. Amazon is integrating its cloud gaming service, Luna, directly into Prime Video on compatible Fire TV devices in the US and UK. This means Prime members will be able to launch games from the same app they use to stream movies and TV shows, without needing a gaming console.

Players can use a compatible controller or even their smartphones to jump into games, making the experience much more accessible for casual gamers.

For now, Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles will be available at no extra cost for Amazon Prime members through Luna in supported regions. It is worth mentioning that Amazon has not announced an India rollout yet. Keep watching this space to know more.
