War 2, one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of 2025, finally hit the big screen earlier this month. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, this film brings back the high-octane thrill and intensity that made its predecessor, War (2019), such a massive hit. The first film, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, set new benchmarks for action in Indian cinema, and fans have been eager to see what comes next.

War 2 OTT release timeline and platform

While the film is currently drawing crowds in theatres, many fans are already looking forward to its OTT debut. According to FilmiBeat, Netflix has acquired the digital streaming rights of War 2. Although there is no official confirmation, the film is expected to drop on the platform once its theatrical run ends.

If we go by the usual timeline of big Bollywood releases, War 2 could be available online by late September or early October 2025.

War 2 plot

The sequel takes the story of Kabir Dhaliwal forward. Once a respected officer, Kabir has now turned into one of the dangerous enemies. His betrayal sparks a tense manhunt, with Special Units Officer Vikram (played by Jr NTR) leading the chase.

Adding another layer of suspense is Kiara Advani as Kavya Luthra, a character closely linked to Colonel Sunil Luthra, the senior RAW officer played by Ashutosh Rana.
