The streaming giant confirmed the renewal on May 28, 2025, just a few weeks after the show made its debut on May 9.
With its mix of comedy, drama and interesting storyline, the series quickly won over audiences in India and beyond, becoming one of Netflix’s buzziest titles of the year. The first season ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving fans eager for more. While Netflix hasn’t announced a release date yet, it has already teased that the second season is “coming soon.”

As of now, there’s no official release date for The Royals season 2. Set in the fictional state of Morpur, The Royals follows the life of Aviraaj “Fizzy” Singh (played by Ishaan Khatter), a young man who inherits a decaying palace and a pile of debt after the death of his father, the former Maharaj. Fizzy crosses paths with Sophia Shekhar (Bhumi Pednekar), a sharp and ambitious CEO of a startup called Work Potato.
Sophia proposes turning the palace into a luxury bed-and-breakfast to generate income. What begins as a business arrangement soon turns into a passionate romance, but things get complicated as the story unfolds.
The season ends with a major twist: Fizzy finds out he’s actually the illegitimate son of Maharani Padmaja (Sakshi Tanwar).
