The popular comedy-drama has built a strong following with its simple storytelling, village setting and relatable characters. Jitendra Kumar plays Abhishek, a young graduate who takes up a government job as the secretary of Phulera’s village panchayat. What starts as a job he wants to leave soon turns into a journey filled with friendships, relationships, village politics and unexpected challenges. After four successful seasons, the show is expected to return with a fifth chapter soon. Here is what we know so far about Panchayat season 5.

The fifth season of Panchayat may arrive very soon. Reports suggest that director Deepak Kumar Mishra has revealed that the new season could premiere around October or November 2026. However, an exact release date has not been announced yet.
Panchayat season 4 recap
Season 4 mainly revolved around the village elections in Phulera. Manju Devi and Kranti Devi went up against each other in the race to become the village Pradhan. The election ended with Kranti Devi winning the position, giving the show a new political setup for the next season.
Meanwhile, Abhishek continued working as the panchayat secretary. He also remained focused on finding a better career option. During the season, he decided to prepare for the CAT exam while continuing his job in Phulera. By the end of the season, Abhishek cleared the CAT exam. This opened the door to a possible change in his career.

What to expect in Panchayat season 5
The next season is likely to explore what Abhishek does after clearing the CAT exam. He could now face a major decision about whether to stay in Phulera or move on to pursue a different career. With Kranti Devi now in charge as Pradhan, the show could also introduce fresh political disagreements and new situations in the village.
