When Netflix released the live-action version of One Piece in 2023, many fans weren’t sure what to expect. The anime and manga are loved all around the world, and even a small mistake could have upset a lot of people. But instead, the show became a big hit.
In less than two weeks, One Piece received over 37.8 million views. It stayed true to the world created by Eiichiro Oda and won over both longtime fans and people who had never seen the anime or read the manga before.

While Netflix is yet to announce the release date of One Piece season 2, rumours suggest that it could arrive in late 2025.

The next season will continue the Straw Hat Pirates’ journey through the Grand Line. The show will cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Island, and Drum Island. Co-showrunner Matt Owens shared that the character Dr Kureha will have a big part in season 2.
