Vivo TWS 5 series with ANC, up to 48 hours battery life, LHDC codec launched in China: Price, specifications
The Vivo earbuds include a smart translate option between several languages.
The new earbuds support Bluetooth 5.4, improved ANC, AI noise reduction in calls, and newer codec support.
The Vivo TWS 5 starts in China at CNY 399 (close to Rs 5,000).
Vivo has introduced its new generation of wireless earphones, the Vivo TWS 5 series, in China at the Vivo X300 series launch event. The series includes the standard Vivo TWS 5 and the higher-end Vivo TWS 5 Hi-Fi. Both earbuds feature active noise cancellation (ANC), Hi-Res Audio certification, and up to 48 hours of total battery life. Compared to last year’s Vivo TWS 4 range, these two claim slightly better latency, improved noise cancellation ceiling and potentially longer playback.
SurveyPrice and availability
The Vivo TWS 5 is priced at CNY 399 (around Rs 5,000), while the Vivo TWS 5 Hi-Fi costs CNY 499 (around Rs 6,000).
The standard version comes in Simple White, Pure Black, and Smokey Purple, while the Hi-Fi model is offered in Deep Sea Blue and White. Both are currently available in China through Vivo’s online store.
International availability, including for India, is yet to be confirmed.

Specifications and features
The Vivo TWS 5 series is equipped with 11mm dynamic drivers and an advanced second-generation ceramic tungsten acoustic diaphragm with nano-coating for improved precision and durability. The Hi-Fi variant supports LDAC, LHDC, AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs, while the standard model omits LHDC. Both models are Hi-Res Audio certified and offer DeepX 4.0 stereo sound tuning. In comparison, the TWS 4 series supported aptX Lossless (TWS 4 Hi-Fi) and aptX adaptive instead of LHDC. For the unversed, LHDC supports higher bitrates and 24-bit/192KHz resolution at a bitrate up to 1000kbps, but it’s still lossy.
For connectivity, they use Bluetooth 5.4 with a range of up to 10 metres and support triple-device connectivity for seamless switching between phones, tablets, and laptops. Gaming users get a 42ms low-latency mode, while the predecessor supported only 44ms latency. This could be a marginal improvement.
You also get AI-based call noise reduction with three microphones for clearer voice pickup.
The earphones have IP54 dust and splash resistance, making them suitable for light workouts or commutes. This is the same ingress protection available on the predecessor.
Vivo claims the ANC system can suppress up to 60dB, 5500Hz ultra-wideband noise, with an average 28dB noise reduction depth. These figures are better than the 55db noise cancellation levels on the TWS 4.
Interestingly, the earbuds also include a smart translate feature that supports live translation between several languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, and Thai.
Battery life is rated at up to 12 hours per charge (ANC off) and 48 hours with the case. With ANC enabled, users can expect 6 hours per charge and 24 hours total. These are again decent improvements on paper.
The inclusion of DeepX 4.0 tuning and Hi-Res Audio certification marks a push towards higher-end sound fidelity. The smart translate feature is a standout addition, catering to multilingual users and travellers.
Let’s see when they cross borders to markets like India. We will keep you posted. Keep reading Digit.in.
