Sony has launched seven new Bravia Theatre products in India
The lineup includes two soundbars, two subwoofers and two rear speaker options
Bravia Theatre Trio and Bar 7 go on sale from 1 July, while the Bar 5 arrives later on 18 August
Sony India has expanded its home audio portfolio with seven new Bravia Theatre products announced at a launch event in New Delhi. The Bravia Theatre lineup includes the flagship Bravia Theatre Trio, two soundbars in the Bar 7 and Bar 5, two wireless subwoofers in the Sub 9 and Sub 8 and two wireless rear speaker options in the Rear 9 and Rear 8. Speaking at the event, Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director of Sony India, said the launch reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its ecosystem with integrated audio-visual solutions. Nezu Daisuke, Global Head of Sony Corporation’s Home Product Business Division, added that India remains a strategic market for the company’s home entertainment ambitions.
SurveyBravia Theatre Trio
The Trio is Sony’s flagship wireless home theatre system built specifically for large-screen televisions. Unlike a conventional soundbar constrained by its physical width, the Trio uses separate left, centre and right speaker units to create a noticeably wider soundstage and more precise dialogue reproduction. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS, integrates with compatible Bravia televisions and can generate up to 24 virtual phantom speakers when paired with the Sub 9 and Rear 9. It carries an MRP of Rs 2,39,990 but will be available from 1 July at a launch price of Rs 1,69,990.
Bravia Theatre Bar 7 and Bar 5
The Bar 7 is a premium soundbar built around Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology which creates virtual phantom speakers for a wider, more immersive soundstage. It houses nine speaker units, including up-firing and side-firing drivers plus four passive radiators and supports Dolby Atmos and IMAX Enhanced content. It carries an MRP of Rs 99,990 and will be available from 1 July at a launch price of Rs 82,990.
The Bar 5 is the more accessible option in the lineup, built as a 3.1-channel system with a wireless subwoofer included in the box. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, with a dedicated centre speaker for dialogue clarity and Sony’s Voice Zoom 3 feature for further speech enhancement when paired with a compatible Bravia TV. It carries an MRP of Rs 37,990 and launches later on 18 August at Rs 29,990.
Bravia Theatre Subwoofers and rear speakers
The Sub 9 and Sub 8 are both wireless subwoofers aimed at deepening the bass response of a Bravia Theatre setup. The Sub 9 uses a 600W amplifier with a dual-subwoofer configuration and vibration-cancelling opposing drivers, while the Sub 8 uses a 300W amplifier with similar dual-subwoofer support. Both use aluminium speaker units and connect to compatible Bravia products through the Bravia Connect app or direct connection. The Sub 9 carries an MRP of Rs 94,990 and launches at Rs 79,990, while the Sub 8 carries an MRP of Rs 42,990 and launches at Rs 34,990. Both arrive on 3 August.
The Rear 9 and Rear 8 are wireless rear speakers designed to round out the surround sound setup. The Rear 9 shares its design philosophy with the Trio, using large up-firing speakers and aluminium drivers along with a swivel wall-mount bracket for flexible placement. The Rear 8 is positioned as the more accessible option, focused on adding depth and spatial precision to the surround experience. The Rear 9 carries an MRP of Rs 74,990 and launches at Rs 58,990, while the Rear 8 carries an MRP of Rs 44,990 and launches at Rs 39,990. Both go on sale from 1 July.
Bravia Direct Connect
Alongside the hardware, Sony introduced Bravia Direct Connect, a feature that lets compatible Bravia televisions connect directly to Bravia Theatre subwoofers and rear speakers without needing a soundbar in between. This supports several configurations, including TV plus subwoofer, TV plus rear speakers or all three together, giving buyers the flexibility to build out a home theatre system gradually rather than purchasing everything at once.
