The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited is the first to introduce an end-to-end ticketing feature for the Namma Metro.

The past versions of WhatsApp have added many such chatbots for the user's convenience.

WhatsApp is partnering with BMRCL to introduce a new feature, a chatbot QR ticketing service for the Namma Metro. As a result, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited has officially become the first to introduce an end-to-end QR ticketing service on WhatsApp. The chatbot is powered by Yellow.AI and will allow people to book tickets, access metro timing details, and more using WhatsApp.

How to book Namma Metro Tickets via WhatsApp

The service will be available in Kannada and English languages. Users can follow the typical chatbot process to get access to the feature. Send a "Hi" to +9181055 56677 on WhatsApp, and you will see the list of available services. The number provided is BMRCL's official WhatsApp chatbot number. Using the AI-powered chatbot, you can recharge your smart card, buy a ticket, or check the Metro Rail timetable. When you book a ticket via WhatsApp, you'll get a QR code that needs to be scanned at the terminal for easy entry and exit. In addition, the new service is linked with WhatsApp Pay making UPI payments even more accessible.

There is no real word on when and if this will reach the Delhi Metro. Abhijit Bose, Head of WhatsApp India, said, "BMRCL's QR ticketing service on WhatsApp would make ticketing and travel on the Metro simple and convenient for the people of Bengaluru. This is another example of how organizations across sectors, from the largest transportation service to the smallest retail business, can transform their customers' experience using the WhatsApp Platform."
