Call 50 people simultaneously, on VoIP!
Facebook has rolled out its group-calling feature to messenger, for both Android and iOS users. According to David Marcus from Facebook, the update should be available for users within 24 hours. The new update will let users make a group call from any groups conversations and you can add new participants to the ongoing call. Facebook told TechCrunch, Messenger will let you use the feature with a maximum of 50 participants.
To start VoIP conversations, all one has to do is open a group in Messenger and a new calling icon should appear there. Just tap on it and Messenger will call all participants simultaneously. Participants can join the call from their end. Further, users can join the call at any point while it's ongoing, as well.
Facebook is betting big on Messenger and making meaningful additions, especially during the recent F8 Conference. It has also opened the platfrom for third party developers. Facebook also introduced bots in the Messenger platform, just recently at its F8 conference. This also brings Facebook Messenger up to speed with Microsoft’s Skype and Google’s Hangouts, which offer group video call capabilities.
