WhatsApp has introduced a helpful new feature that lets users leave a voice message when someone doesn’t answer their call. Instead of hanging up and opening the chat manually, callers will now see a ‘Record voice message’ option right on the call screen. This makes it easier and faster to share important information, especially when the other person is unavailable. But there’s a catch: the feature is currently rolling out only to iOS users.

When a call goes unanswered, users can instantly record and send a short voice note. The message is delivered alongside the missed call alert, giving recipients a quick way to understand why they were called and respond when they’re free. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is also rolling out a similar option for video calls, letting users send short video notes if a video call isn’t answered.
This new option comes as part of WhatsApp’s broader update to the Calls tab, which has been redesigned into a more organised ‘unified call hub.’ The hub brings all call tools together so users can manage voice and video calls more efficiently.
The first option is the hub is the Call button, which lets you start individual or group calls of up to 31 participants through a simplified contact list registered on WhatsApp. The second option is a Scheduling button, which lets you plan calls in advance. The third element is a Keypad button, which allows you to dial numbers directly through WhatsApp, even if a number isn’t saved. The last option is Favourites.
It’s important to note that these features are currently rolling out, so just wait a little bit if you haven’t received them yet.
