WhatsApp is introducing a new interface for the iPhone users, replacing the traditional Settings tab to traditional Settings tab with a new You section. As spotted by WaBetaInfo, the change aims to offer user profiles and identity, while making account access more prominent within the application. While not all iPhone users have got it yet, the feature may roll out in the coming weeks to all the users. Here is everything you should know about the new You tab.

What is the ‘You’ tab?
The all new You tab is a reworked interface from the existing Settings page but places greater emphasis on personal identity and account details. Now, instead of the generic gear icon, the users will now be able to see their profile pictures in the bottom navigation bar, making it easier to recognise the active account at a glance.
While core settings like privacy, chats and notifications remain accessible, they are no more organised around the user profile. The change is useful for those who use multiple accounts, as the profile icon doubles as a visual indicator for account switching.
How it works
It can be accessed by tapping on the profile icon. It opens a dedicated space where users can manage their account, see details and even access settings. The new design also works positively for the multi-account functionality, allowing the users to handle more than one number on a single device more seamlessly.
In addition, WhatsApp is also testing a refreshed profile page that includes a large header style cover photo. Now, this appears as a default image and cannot be customised, though future updates are said to introduce personalised options.
