Adobe Lightroom mobile app released for iPad, coming to iPhone soon

The Lightroom mobile app lets iPhone and iPad users work with RAW images also.

Adobe, creator of the world’s best photo editing suite Photoshop, has released a mobile app of its Lightroom software which has only been available to desktop users till now. The app is currently available on iTunes for iPad only and will soon be released for iPhone also. The new app will automatically syncs with Lightroom 5 on the desktop as well.

In order to fully utilize all the features of the app, you will need to have a Creative Cloud subscription (which is primarily the catch here).

The app is available on iTunes to free and works with all image formats. It can also import photos directly from your iOS device’s camera roll. Sharing options for popular social media networks has also been made available. It also sports a built-in slideshow feature and you can access your shared photo libraries on the web through the online Lightroom portal.

Note: You can only get Lightroom on your iPad or iPhone if you have Adobe Lightroom 5 and any of the following plans:

  • Creative Cloud – Photoshop Photography Program($9.99)
  • Creative Cloud Student and Teacher Edition ($29.99 per month)
  • Creative Cloud for teams complete plan ($69.99 per user per month)
