Truecaller has launched a clubhouse-like private audio conversation app called Open Doors. You can start a conversation and your friends can join the conversation upon receiving a notification. Once they join, their friends will be intimated and they too can join. As so, as you see, based on the network effect, the number of people involved in the conversation grows. What is Open Doors By Truecaller?
Open Doors is a free social media app that involves the participants interacting with others using just audio. In that sense, it could be considered as a Clubhouse alternative.
It is made by True Software Scandinavia AB, the parent company of Truecaller, Caller ID, and spam blocking service.
Currently, the app UI is available in English, Hindi, Spanish, Latin, and French. More languages will be added in the future.

As the company notes in the press release, “If you are already a Truecaller user, you can sign in with just one tap”. Else, you will have to enter your phone number and it will be verified through a missed call or OTP.
Further, you’ll have to grant two permissions: contacts (for the network effect) and phone permission (to conduct audio conversations). Now, in case you’re concerned, the company assures you your phone numbers won’t appear to the other person in the conversation.
To reiterate, you can begin and end a conversation as and when you wish. Your friends (contacts) will get notifications to join the conversation and similarly, their friends shall too. Anybody part of the conversation can also share a link to others asking to join.
