The Honor 5C is the newest smartphone launched by the company and it offers a number of notable features at its price. At Rs. 10,999, the phone is placed in a very competitive segment and its specifications as well as build quality help it stand out from the crowd.

Specification overview
The Honor 5C sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display and is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 650 SoC with 2GB of RAM. At the back is a 13MP primary camera, while at the front is an 8MP camera. The device is equipped with a 3000mAh battery and offers 16GB of onboard storage that can be expanded by up to 128GB. The Honor 5C sports a fingerprint sensor at the back and runs Android Marshmallow v6.0.

Build
The Honor 5C is built using aircraft-grade aluminum, which is not only light, but also durable. Further, the device features a scratch resistant anodized coating that protects the device from corrosion, and general wear and tear. The metal body has a brushed metal effect that gives the phone a premium look. Honor also says that the 5C is the first model to be built according to Huawei’s stringent 3.1 quality assurance standards. The device was subject to numerous tests that were designed to test the device’s toughness and durability. 

The phone also features ridged edges that help users get a firm grip on their device. In addition, the rounded edges make the phone comfortable to hold for extended periods of time. The decision to use a 5.2-inch display helps improve ergonomics as the display is big enough to enjoy content, yet small enough to be manageable when using it with just one hand.

Performance
The Honor 5C is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 650 SoC manufactured by a 16nm FinFET process that offers faster performance as compared 28nm chipsets. It also features big.LITTLE architecture with four 2.0GHz high-performance cores and four 1.7GHz lower-performance cores. Lighter tasks are assigned to the lower-clocked cores, thus ensuring power efficiency, while performance intensive tasks such as gaming are handled by the high performance cores. The Honor 5C also sports a Mali 830 GPU.

The Honor 5C scores an impressive 53393 on AnTuTu and 299.6 in the GFXBench Manhattan 3.1 onscreen test. In Geekbench, the device scored 902 in the single core test and 3924 in the multi core test.

Battery 
The Honor 5C is equipped with a high density 650 Wh/L battery with a capacity of 3000mAh. The 16nm Kirin 650 SoC is power efficient and allows the phone to offer a balance between high performance and long battery life. Further, since the phone runs Android Marshmallow v6.0, it comes with Doze mode that helps to improve the battery life of the phone even further. The phone managed to score an impressive 5945 in the Geekbench 3 battery test.

Camera
At the back of the phone is a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture lens and a BSI sensor. The device also comes with SmartImage 3.0, that lets users choose from different shooting modes or add creative filters. Light Painting mode gives the user manual control of the shutter for long exposure shots, while the Professional Mode offers a range of DSLR-style settings. At the front is an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens. In order to make it easier to take group selfies, the camera also has a 77-degree wide angle lens. Further, the phone also comes with 10 different beauty modes, a feature that is sure to impress selfie aficionados.
