iPhone 17 Air may look totally different than what we have seen on iPhones so far: Here’s what we know
A recent leak suggests that the iPhone 17 Air could feature a horizontal camera bar.
Unlike the Pro models, the Air variant seems to adopt a single-camera system.
Reports suggest this will be a 48-megapixel sensor.
Apple launched its iPhone 16 series back in September, and if it were to follow the same timeline for the iPhone 17 lineup too, then there’s still a lot of time before the devices drop. But has that ever stopped rumours and leaks from circling around? No. From the next iPhone 17 lineup, the iPhone 17 Air is the most spoken-about device so far. It is expected to replace the “Plus” variant and join the “Air” lineup just like the iPad Air and MacBook Air. And naturally, a lot of rumours and leaks about the same are surfacing online. A recent leak suggests that the iPhone 17 Air could feature a horizontal camera bar.
SurveyTech leakster Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech has shared new renders of the alleged iPhone 17 Air design. In the renders, the device is seen with a large, pill-shaped camera module spanning across the back panel. Unlike the Pro models, which might retain their rectangular island-like module, the Air variant seems to adopt a single-camera system. Reports suggest this will be a 48-megapixel sensor, accompanied by a microphone and LED flash unit.

The leaked images also show that the volume rockers and action button are on the left and the power button is on the right. Apple can also add the camera control button on the iPhone 17 Air.
To be honest, these renders remind us of the design aesthetic that Google follows with its Pixel devices. However, it is not exactly the same, just that the leaked camera module seems similar to Pixels’ camera module. The redesign could also hint at a focus on computational photography, software-driven enhancements, or even better weight distribution for a more ergonomic feel. But the exact reason behind it is yet to be known. For now, it is best to take all of this information with a pinch of salt.
