Xiaomi is preparing to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which will take over from the Xiaomi 15 Ultra at the top of the company’s lineup. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the device will debut in China later this week. Like its predecessors, the new flagship places a strong emphasis on photography, continuing Xiaomi’s collaboration with Leica to further advance mobile imaging. In addition to camera improvements, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature a refreshed design, officially teased by the company, while retaining the familiar large circular camera module on the rear. Here’s everything we know so far about the flagship, including its camera, specifications, launch timeline, pricing, and more.
SurveyXiaomi 17 Ultra: Camera (Leaked)
If recent leaks are to be believed, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will come with a triple rear camera configuration. It is expected to sport the primary camera as a 50MP sensor with a large 1-inch OmniVision OV50X sensor and an f/1.67 aperture. Still, the most significant upgrade is said to be the addition of the telephoto camera. Reports are doing the rounds that Xiaomi will add continuous optical zoom technology that allows smooth zooming from about 3x up to 7x without a loss of quality.
The telephoto lens is also said to support a 70mm to 100mm focal length and could rely on a 200MP sensor. The smartphone will also introduce Xiaomi’s first Leica APO zoom camera, which may enhance sharpness in macro photography across various lighting conditions.
