But today we will take a look at the postpaid plans on offer from the three big telecom providers in India - Airtel, Jio and Vi (Vodafone Idea).

Each service provider only has a handful of plans but the plans vary considerably with the amount of data they offer, access to OTT services and more. If you are looking to port your number to a different service provider or are wondering whether it makes sense to upgrade or downgrade your plan, then this comparison should help you. To make things easy to understand, let’s break up the offerings into different price brackets - under Rs 300, under Rs 600, under Rs 1000 and finally, under Rs 1500 per month. 

Jio vs Airtel vs Vi: Postpaid plans under Rs 400

Rs 400 can be considered as an entry-level plan for postpaid users. Only Vi and Jio have plans under Rs 400. Let’s look at their details and benefits. 

Vi Rs 399 plan

This plan is for a single user. With this plan, users get 40GB data per month along with data rollover. A user can accumulate a maximum of 200GB of data with rollover. The plan also offers 100 SMS per month. It offers unlimited voice calls. Users also get access to Vi Movies and TV Subscription.

Jio Rs 399 plan

This plan brings with it 75GB data per month. After the limit is reached, the user is charged Rs 10 per GB till the next billing cycle. The plan also has a maximum of 200GB data rollover if the monthly limit is not reached. This plan is also for a single user. With this plan users get unlimited voice and SMS. Users also get access to Netflix, Amazon Prime & Disney+ Hotstar VIP OTT subscription with the plan. 

Jio vs Airtel vs Vi: Postpaid plans under Rs 600

Rs 600 is the next level of plans bringing more data and some added benefits to users.  All three service providers have postpaid plans under Rs 600. Let’s look at their details and benefits. 

Vi Rs 499 plan

This plan is for a single user. With this plan, users get 75GB data per month along with data rollover. A user can accumulate a maximum of 200GB of data with rollover. The plan also offers 100 SMS per month. It offers unlimited voice calls. Users also get access to Vi Movies and TV Subscription along with Amazon Prime subscription for 1-year, worth Rs 999.

Jio Rs 599 plan

This plan brings with it 100GB data per month. After the limit is reached, the user is charged Rs 10 per GB till the next billing cycle. The plan also has a maximum of 200GB data rollover if the monthly limit is not reached. This plan is also for a single user. With this plan users get unlimited voice and SMS. Airtel Rs 499 plan

With this plan, users get unlimited calls and access to 100 SMS per day. They also get an Amazon Prime subscription for 1 year. The plan brings with it 75GB data per month with data rollover of 200GB per month.

Rs 1000 is the next level of plans bringing more data and some added benefits to users. While Vi has a plan priced at Rs 699, Jio has two plans - Rs 799 and Rs 999. Airtel on the other hand has a Rs 749 and Rs 99 plan. 

Vi Rs 699 plan

This plan is for a single user. With this plan, users get unlimited data per month. The plan also offers 100 SMS per month. It offers unlimited voice calls. Users also get access to Vi Movies and TV Subscription along with Amazon Prime subscription for 1 year, worth Rs 999.

Jio Rs 799 and Rs 999 plan

The Jio Rs 799 and 99 plan has all the same features except the data consumption. For data, the Rs 799 plan has 150GB data per month With a data rollover capacity of 200GB while the Rs 999 plan has 200GB data limit per month with a maximum of 500GB data rollover. After the data limit is reached, the user is charged Rs 10 per GB till the next billing cycle. The Rs 799 and Rs 99 plan bring with them 2 and 3 additional family plan SIM cards respectively. Users also get unlimited voice and SMS along with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime & Disney+ Hotstar VIP OTT subscription with the plan. 

Airtel Rs 749 and Rs 999 plan

Just like the Jio plans above, the biggest difference in the 2 Airtel plans is the data available per month along with the family plans. The Rs 749 plan brings with it 125GB data per month and the Rs 999 plan brings with it 150GB data per month. Users also get 2 family add-ons with the Rs 749 plan and 4 free family add-ons with the Rs 999 plan. 

With these plans, users get unlimited calls and access to 100 SMS per day. They also get an Amazon Prime subscription for 1 year. 

Jio vs Airtel vs Vi: Postpaid plans above Rs 1000

The top tier plans from all the service providers bring with them some added benefits and a price tag exceeding Rs 1000 per month. Let’s take a look at their benefits and features. 

Vi Rs 1099 plan

This plan is for a single user. With this plan, users get unlimited data per month. The plan also offers 100 SMS per month. It offers unlimited voice calls. Users also get access to Vi Movies and TV Subscription along with Amazon Prime subscription for 1-year, worth Rs 999. They also get a 1-year Netflix subscription worth Rs 5988 per year. In addition, users also get access to international and domestic airport lounges at no extra cost - 4 times per year (including 1 International), 7 days International roaming pack worth Rs 2999.

Jio Rs 1499 plan

This plan brings with it 300GB data per month. After the limit is reached, the user is charged Rs 10 per GB till the next billing cycle. The plan also has a maximum of 500GB data rollover if the monthly limit is not reached. This plan is also for a single user. With this plan users get unlimited voice and SMS. Users also get access to Netflix, Amazon Prime & Disney+ Hotstar VIP OTT subscription with the plan. 

Airtel Rs 1599 plan

With this plan, users get unlimited calls and access to 100 SMS per day. They also get an Amazon Prime subscription for 1 year. The plan brings with it unlimited data per month but the Airtel terms page pegs unlimited at 500GB per month. This plan also brings with it 1 free family add-on.
