Xolo teases its first Black phone; will be smudge free and offer a dual-camera setup at the rear.
Xolo has posted a new video of an upcoming phone from its upcoming sub-brand called Black. We already know Xolo is gearing up to launch its Black sub-brand which will be sold exclusively via an online partner. While the ‘Black’ sub-brand was officially announced in May, the company is expected to launch the brand and its first phone officially in July.The company has plans to launch a new phone every quarter thereafter, starting with its first phone which will be priced under Rs. 15,000. Xolo has also revealed that Flipkart will be the online retail partner for the Xolo Black.
The revealed teaser points towards a ‘stain free & smudge free’ phone which suggests that the device might have a ‘nanoparticle’ or an ‘oleophobic’ coating. In the video, one can see the back of the upcoming phone with a dual camera setup. This will let the phone offer Bokeh effects and may offer dual-focus imagery. There is a single LED in the middle of the cameras and the back looks glossy. Judging by the edge which is partially visible in the video, the phone looks fairly slim as well.
Xolo, which is already a sub-brand of Lava Mobiles, is trying to establish a firm footing for itself in a mobile market which is widely dominated by Chinese brands. Earlier at the brand reveal event, Vishal Sehgal, Co-Founder and Director of Lava International, said that the new ‘Black’ brand will focus on four key areas with each upcoming phone. He then explained that market research suggests that people buy phones based on camera, industrial design, battery and audio performance. Hence, Xolo will focus on these key areas at the moment.
Our previous interaction with Sehgal also clarified that the Black phones may come with a higher price tag than the competitors but will offer better features and experience. He added that all Xolo Black phones will be shipped with Xolo's latest Hive UI which will be layered on top of Android OS. The company has already confirmed that it will work on user suggestions and feedback to improve the UI experience even further.
