Xiaomi will soon stop selling Redmi 4A in favour of Redmi 5A
HIGHLIGHTS

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be replacing Xiaomi's Redmi 4A smartphone. The Redmi 4A will no longer be sold in India after Xiaomi phases it out in the country.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A will be phased out from the Indian market. With the launch of the Redmi 5A, Xiaomi confirmed that the Redmi 4A will no longer be sold. That said, there's still a sale or two scheduled for the Redmi 4A. Though Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed this, it’s likely that these will be the last few sales for the Redmi 4A. The move makes sense since the Redmi 5A is essentially the Redmi 4A with a dedicated micro-SD slot.

"We are very excited to launch Redmi 5A in India today, which will go on sale on December 7, 2017. As the product gathers momentum, and we have a few sales, in parallel we would be phasing out Redmi 4A. Redmi 4A was the successful predecessor to Redmi 5A, and launch earlier this year during March," said a spokesperson from Xiaomi.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A was announced earlier today. The device has a 5 inch HD display, along with 2/3GB RAM. It comes in 16GB and 32GB variants, priced at Rs. 5,999 and Rs. 6,999 respectively. Xiaomi is also offering a Rs. 1000 discount on the 16GB variant, for the first five million units sold. The Redmi 5A sports a 3000 mAh battery inside, with a 13MP camera on the back and 5MP front camera.
