Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 3S+ smartphone in India. It is the first smartphone from the company to be sold completely offline. The Redmi 3S+ is priced at Rs. 9,499 and will be sold via more than 7,500 retail outlets. The phone will also be available via large retail chains such as — Poorvika, Sangeetha, BIG C, and LOT mobiles. Apart from that Xiaomi’s distributors, Redington, Innocomm and Just Buy Live will be selling the phone via their retail channels as well. The phone is already available in retail stores.

As far as looks are concerned the Redmi 3S+ looks very similar to the Redmi 3S Prime. Inside, The Redmi 3S+ is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, which is the same SoC used by the Redmi 3S & 3S Prime. It features 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The storage can be further extended using a micro-SD card. The phone sports a 5-inch IPS display with a 1280 x 720p resolution. At the back, it features a fingerprint scanner and a 13MP camera, which supports PDAF (Phase detection autofocus). At the front, the device sports a 5MP camera. The Redmi 3S+ is a dual SIM smartphone and supports both 4G and VoLTE.

This year Xiaomi’s Redmi range of phones have single handedly taken over the competition. Be it the 7K segment or the sub-15K smartphone category, if you are buying a phone online, chances are it will be a Xiaomi Redmi. However, till now the company has been selling phones in the online segment only and going offline would mean going against brand such as Samsung, HTC, Micromax and more. How Xiaomi will fare against these with their extensive distribution and retail chains, is yet to be seen.
