The second sale of Xiaomi’s latest flagship device, the Mi Mix 2 (Review) is being held today on Flipkart and Xiaomi’s website today at 12PM. The smartphone is priced at Rs 35,999 and is available only in Black variant. The first sale of the smartphone was held on October 17 and after today’s sale, the Mi Mix 2 will also be available from Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Home and other offline retail channels.
The smartphone is a bezel-less offering by Xiaomi and is thinner than its predecessor. It sports a 12 percent reduced chin than the original Mi Mix, offering a smaller overall footprint. The device comes in a 7-series aluminium frame with a ceramic rear panel.
Coming to the specifications, the Mi Mix 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and comes with 6GB of RAM. It sports 128GB of internal storage but misses out on a microSD card slot. The smartphone features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD Univisium display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The Mi Mix 2 runs MIUI 9 on top of Android Nougat and comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is powered by a 3400mAh battery.
In terms of optics, the Mi Mix 2 sports a single 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and Sony’s IMX386 sensor. The rear camera supports four-axis image stabilisation and comes with dual-tone LED flash. The smartphone features a 5MP front facing camera for selfies, which can reorient itself based on the placement of the device.
In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and NFC. The device skips on a 3.5mm audio jack. The Mi Mix 2 is competing against smartphones like the Nokia 8, OnePlus 5 and Honor 8 Pro. You can read our comparison of all the above mentioned devices here.
