Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has confirmed the arrival of  MIUI 7 on August 13 at an event to be held in the China National Convention Center. Xiaomi made the official announcement on its forum. As for the invitations to the event, they have use tangrams. A tangram is basically a Chinese geometrical puzzle in which a square is cut into 7 pieces. You can then arrange these 7 pieces to create different shapes.

Xiaomi hasn't revealed anything except for the date and the venue regarding MIUI 7 release, but you can expect it to be based on Android 5.1.1 because the last released version of the MIUI 6 is based on Android 5.0.2. However, the exact appearance of MIUI 7 is something worth looking forward to. It's stability will also be interesting to see because the initial builds of most OSs are expected to have some bugs and in some bad cases, even crashes. For example, the initial versions of stock Android Lollipop were reported to have WiFi and memory leak bug, which were fixed later.

The MIUI 6 was released about one year ago so it also seems to be a good time to release the MIUI7.

MIUI offers a lot of customization options like the Theme Store to download various themes along with widgets to help you make your Xiaomi device look unique. However, MIUI is known to have the look and feel similar to iOS. It is undoubtedly one of the widely used custom Android ROMs (like CyanogenMod) with more than 100 million users worldwide. Xiaomi is moving on the path of success steadily with selling over 60 million devices last year. It accounts for 135% growth as compared to the sell of around 20 million devices in 2013. Talkig about the revenue, Xiaomi made a revenue of $12 billion last year. The mantra for success of Xiaomi has been providing better specs at cheaper prices. They offer devices from entry-level to mid-range like Redmi 2, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i etc. They have also tried their hands at other categories of gadgets as well like MiPad (tablet) and Mi Band (fitness band).
