Xiaomi cuts Mi 4 (64GB) price to Rs. 19,999

HIGHLIGHTS

Xiaomi has announced a second price cut in two months for the Mi 4 64GB, probably to challenge the OnePlus One.

Xiaomi announced earlier today that the Mi 4 64GB will receive a Rs. 4,000 price cut on its launch price. The price cut will be applicable from today, and the phone is available on Flipkart today for Rs. 19,999. Such a move by Xiaomi was anticipated to challenge the OnePlus One 64GB, that is presently selling on Amazon for Rs. 21,998.

While the OnePlus One 16GB is selling for Rs. 18,998, the Mi 4 16GB is still selling for Rs. 17,999. Back in April, Xiaomi had announced the Mi 4’s first price cut in April, slashing Rs. 2,000 on both the 16GB and 64GB phones. This time, however, no price cut has been announced for the 16GB model.

The Xiaomi Mi 4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and 3GB of RAM, featuring a 5” 1080×1920 pixels IPS LCD display, 13 megapixel primary camera and 8 megapixel front camera. The OnePlus One uses the same processor with same amount of RAM, on a bigger 5.5” LTPS LCD display and 5 megapixel front camera, making the two phones close competitors at a similar price bracket.

OnePlus itself announced a permanent price cut for the One, making the $50 and €50 flash sale discounts in US and European markets permanent. The 64GB version is now selling in US, Canada and Europe for $249 and €249. Along with a one-year Dropbox Pro subscription, the sandstone black OnePlus One will be sold for $349 (Rs. 22,373).
