Xiaomi 18 series may launch in India sooner than expected, Pro Max model tipped to replace Ultra

After introducing the Xiaomi 17 series, the Chinese smartphone is planning to introduce the Xiaomi 18 series and that too, earlier than expected. As per a SmartPrix report, the Xiaomi 18 series will debut in India by the end of this year. The report also mentioned that the company may make changes to the flagship lineup, with the company reportedly dropping the Ultra branding in favour of the new Pro Max variant. While the brand has not confirmed any details yet, here is what we know so far.

According to a report by Smartprix, citing tipster Yogesh Brar, Xiaomi is expected to launch the Xiaomi 18 series in India in December. The reports also claim that the lineup may have three devices: Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Unlike previous generations, there may not be an Ultra model this time and the Pro Max will be the top variant.
The smartphones are expected to debut in China around September, likely around the time of Qualcomm’s annual Snapdragon Summit. For the unversed, the Xiaomi 17 series launched in China in September last year, while the Indian customers had to wait till March 2026 for the global rollout.
Xiaomi 18 series specifications (Expected)
The leaks suggest that the Xiaomi 18 series can be among the first few devices that will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. Adding on, the Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro are tipped to feature Leica-tuned dual 200-megapixel camera sensors, while the Pro variant could house a large 7,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging and wireless charging.
