Xiaomi has allegedly been hard at work for the launch of its new T-series smartphones. The new T-series lineup will likely feature the vanilla Xiaomi 12T and the Xiaomi 12T Pro. The devices will be direct successors of the Xiaomi 11T series. A new report has listed multiple key specifications of the vanilla Xiaomi 12T smartphone. The upcoming phone will reportedly get flagship-grade specifications and features. Let’s take a look at the rumoured specifications of the Xiaomi 12T.
Xiaomi 12T Key Specifications Leaked
According to a report by XiaomiUI, the Xiaomi 12T smartphone has been codenamed “Plato”. The report reveals that the Xiaomi 12T will be powered by an improved version of the flagship-grade MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC – the Dimensity 8100 Ultra. This is reportedly not the same as the upgraded Dimensity 8100 Max processor used in the Oppo Reno 8 Pro. The chipset should have improved performance over the 5 nm Dimensity 8100 processor, but not a lot is known about it at the moment.
As per the report, the Xiaomi 12T will also feature 128 / 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage alongside 8 GB LPDDR5 RAM. 8 GB of RAM may seem a little low, but Xiaomi could have saved more beefed up RAM specs such as 12 GB or 16 GB RAM for the Xiaomi 12T Pro.

The report also suggests that the Xiaomi 12T will feature a 1220 x 2712 pixels display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. This hints that the device could feature an OLED panel.
As for the cameras, the phone will house a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 108 MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor. For the camera nerds out there, the sensor size of the primary lens is 1/1.67-inches. This will likely be paired with an 8 MP Samsung S5K4H7 ultrawide lens and a 2 MP macro shooter. For selfies, a 20 MP Sony IMX596 sensor is expected.
While the battery specifications are still unknown, we can expect the phone to feature either 67 W or 120 W fast charging out of the box. Reports suggest that the phone could house a 5,000 mAh battery, but no leaks have indicated this so far.
Xiaomi 12T Launch Timeline
The Xiaomi 12T is likely to launch sometime in September 2022, as per the report. However, there has been no word from Xiaomi about the launch of the 12T series no take this leak with a grain of salt. There’s no word on an India launch timeline as well.
