VIVO mobiles to launch X5MAX, world’s slimmest phone, in India

Chinese phone manufacturer VIVO mobile will launch the world’s slimmest phone in India on December 15.

VIVO mobiles. another Chinese phone manufacturer, will enter the Indian market later this month. The company will launch its X5MAX smartphone in India, which is the thinnest phone in the world at 4.75mm. The X5MAX beats the recently launched Oppo R5 which is 4.85mm thick.

Apart from sporting the slimmest profile, the smartphone has a TFT 5.5-inch full HD screen. It runs on a 1.7GHz MediaTek processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The phone has a 16GB internal storage and can take microSD cards up to 128GB. In the imaging department, the phone has a 13MP rear and a 5MP front facing camera.

The dual-sim phone is 4G enabled and will run on Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box. The Oppo R5 loses the 3.5mm headphone jack to be 4.85mm slim, but images of the X5MAX revealed by Alex Lei Fang, Chief marketing Officer, Vivo Mobiles, show that it retains the 3.5mm headphone jack even at 4.75mm. Price and availability of the smartphone are still under wraps till December 15.
