Tecno POVA 5G India launch slated for next week: Here’s what to expect

Originally debuted in December of last year, it surely has taken some time for Tecno to bring its Pova 5G smartphone to India. But, now the company has teased a possible launch of the device sometime next week. And just recently, Rajiv Makhni of NDTV has shared February 8 as the launch day. He also reiterates the brand’s “fastest 5G smartphone” claim by adding that it would be priced under 20K. As for the phone’s speeds and feeds are concerned, you could expect things like MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, virtual memory expansion support, and 6000mAh battery. Well, since the phone is already out in other countries, we could fairly guess what Tecno Pova 5G could bring to the table.

Tecno Pova 5G’s front is a 6.95-inch HD+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. To unlock the screen, you could get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. And inside, most likely Android 11 based HiOS 8.0 would be the software UI. 

As already mentioned Dimensity 900 would be at the helm of processing, aided by maybe 8GB of RAM. The innards could also consist of 128GB of storage and a 6000mAh battery. The charger in the box could be rated for 18W output. 

Coming to the camera, you could expect a 50MP+ 13MP+ 2MP rear setup and a 16MP front camera with dual-LED flash. Other things in the package could be WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and FM Radio.

Tecno could release the POVA 5G in between ₹18,000 and ₹20,000. And the e-retailer would be Amazon.
