Spice unveils Stellar Glide smartphone running Android Jelly Bean for Rs 5,199

The Indian mobile phone manufacturer has packed a 1.2GHz dual-core processor in the phone running on Android 4.2.

Spice Retail Limited, has unveiled a budget Android smartphone called Spice Stellar Glide Mi – 438. The smartphone is a 3G smartphone and comes with Google Mobile Services (GMS) certification.

The Stellar Glide comes with a 4-inch OGS (One Glass Solution) screen. An OGS display is a touchscreen technology which reduces the thickness of a display by removing layers of glass from the regular capacitative touchscreen displays. The touch module glass is replaced by a thin layer of insulating material. It comes with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor and 512 MB of RAM.

Featuring Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the Stellar Glide packs 4GB of internal storage which is expandable upto 32GB via a MicroSD slot. It is a dual-SIM phone with both SIM slots supporting 3G networks. The phone comes with a 2MP rear and 1.3MP front facing cameras. Spice claims talk-time of more than 4.5 hours and up to 170 hours of standby with its 1350mAh battery.

 

The Stellar Glide also features FM Radio, Wi-Fi Tethering, G-sensor and HSPA support. Spice is also give 2GB of free data storage space with the phone through its Spice Cloud service for online backup.

With a price of Rs 5,199, the Spice Stellar Glide Mi – 438 is an excellent buy if you are tight on budget and want to experience Android OS. Spice is also giving a bundled flip cover  worth Rs 500 and a screen guard free with the phone.
