Samsung has confirmed that a software fix for the reported volume bug in the Galaxy Nexus smartphone is being rolled out now. Several users of the newly launched Galaxy Nexus had spotted a bug that caused the volume to move up and down on its own. Users in U.S., U.K., and other European countries also complained about sudden muting of the volume when on EDGE mode. Android Central recently put up a video, demonstrating the bug with the Galaxy Nexus.
Confirming the development, Samsung said in a statement, Samsung said, “We’re currently rolling out a fix for the volume issue which will reach everyone in the coming week.” Meanwhile, reports suggest Samsung will also be rolling out Adobe Flash support along with the bug fix.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone to run the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The Galaxy Nexus was recently launched in the U.K. and is scheduled to be launched in the U.S. later this month. As for now, there’s no word on the India launch of the device. However, in our previous coverage, we’d reported that Google has setup a Galaxy Nexus registration page for India. After registration, users will receive updates about the device, including, its exact availability status.
The volume bug in the Galaxy Nexus comes days after Apple released iOS 5.0.1 update to fix the battery life issues in the iPhone 4S. A number of the iPhone 4S owners have had some problems with battery life. The iOS 5.0.1 update is supposed to bring other improvements and bug fixes to the platform however, across devices.
