HIGHLIGHTS

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip price could be lower than its predecessor.

The handset is tipped to be priced between 1 million won and 1.5 million won.

The smartphone could be powered by last year’s flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC.

Samsung is gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event that is slated to happen on February 11. The company is expected to announce the next Galaxy ‘S’ series of phones at the event, which as per the ongoing rumours, could be the Galaxy S20 lineup instead of the expected Galaxy S11. In addition, the next foldable phone by the South Korean smartphone maker is expected to make its debut at the event, which is reportedly called the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. New details about the Z Flip have surfaced, including its possible price.

As per an iNews24 report, Samsung could price the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip between 1 million won (Rs 61,339 approx) and 1.5 million won (Rs 92,008 approx). This is in line with previous reports making rounds on the internet, which suggest that the foldable phone might be priced around $1,000 (Rs 71,012 approx). As per an insider source who has information about the possible pricing, the report notes that the prices are not finalised. We suggest you take the information with a grain of salt as nothing has been confirmed yet.

Almost all rumours and reports we have come across so far give an impression that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip features a clamshell foldable design. This would be similar to the recently launched Motorola Razr 2019, which folds out vertically like the original Motorola Razr. The Galaxy Z Flip is rumoured to run on last year’s flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC and could be equipped with a secondary display on the outer shell, which is supposed to flip out. It is rumoured to sport a 10MP selfie camera that might feature the same hardware as the one we’ve seen on the Galaxy Note10. There could be an ultra-thin glass on the inner display covering, which is said to reduce, if not eliminate, the crease.
