Samsung Galaxy Tab gets even cheaper – now going for Rs. 24,900

With Indian prices of the Galaxy Tab’s primary mega-brand competitor – the Apple iPadfalling sharply and officially following the iPad 2 announcement, it comes as no surprise that Samsung has decided to reduce prices as well.

While there has been no official announcement of lowered Indian/global pricing by the Korean consumer electronics giant, online e-tailers such as Flipkart and Letsbuy are listing it at Rs. 24,900 – quite comparable to the base version of the iPad, though it has numerous more features to offer, albeit in a smaller form factor.

Of course, 10.1-inch and 8.9-inch versions of the Galaxy Tab are also in the pipeline, with the former already getting some major coverage during MWC 2011. There’s no news of Samsung’s plans to update the hardware of the already retailing 7-inch Galaxy Tab, but we expect it a refreshed version to arrive around the time the 8.9-inch version becomes available.
