HIGHLIGHTS

The latest leak comes from Sammobile insider detailing specifications and photos of the Galaxy S5 Alpha.

It seems that Samsung has finally managed to create the metal variant of the Galaxy S5. A new leak of the Galaxy S5 variant (known as Alpha Variant) includes pictures showing its metal chassis. This phone is rumoured to have either the same display as the Galaxy S3 or one with 2K resolution, a nano-SIM slot, fingerprint scanner and 32GB internal memory with no memory expansion. It will also reportedly launch with an LTE variant. The Galaxy S5 Alpha has very similar specifications as the Galaxy S5 Mini and even looks the same. As shown in leaked photos, the Galaxy S5 has the same texture on the back as the new handsets in the Galaxy series with the fingerprint sensor to the left of the camera module.

The Galaxy S5 Mini, that the Galaxy S5 Alpha resembles, has a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It has a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The Galaxy S5 Mini has an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED Flash and a 2.1 MP front camera. It has 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.

It is rumoured that the Galaxy S5 Alpha will be a limited edition variant but we are happy to see that Samsung is putting a step forward leaving behind their legacy of plastic phones.
