Samsung is reportedly working on its next-generation Galaxy S-series smartphones, speculated to debut early next year. While it’s too early to say anything about the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, a new report has shed some light on the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s specifications, suggesting several upgrades in terms of design, performance, and camera features. However, one thing that may remain untouched is the telephoto camera.

According to a new report from GalaxyClub, the upcoming device will likely retain the same telephoto lens as the current Galaxy S25 Ultra. It could ship with a 50MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom. Additionally, rumours suggest that Samsung could introduce a 200MP sensor for the secondary telephoto camera. Furthermore, the device is also tipped to feature a 200MP primary sensor with variable aperture, letting users control the depth of the field and low-light photography.

Galaxy S26 Ultra launch timeline

The Galaxy S26 series is expected to debut in January 2026. However, nothing is confirmed as of now.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra specifications

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to retain the large 6.9-inch display. The device could come equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor for the overclocked “For Galaxy” version.

The smartphone is tipped to come in three storage options- 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, paired with 16GB of RAM. It may pack a 5,000mAh battery with faster charging support. However, the details remain to be seen. The leak also mentions that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will get a thinner body.

Apart from these, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series was previously teased to replace the Plus-sized model with the Edge model. However, do note that none of these details have officially been confirmed; hence, they should be taken with a pinch of salt.
