Samsung Galaxy Note and S II to get Android 4.1.2 update in March
According to Samsung, the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Note will receive the Android 4.1.2 update in March whereas the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 will receive the update in April. Other devices too will receive the update.
The official Samsung Ukraine website has given information about devices that will receive the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update along with dates. The information is as follows.
The Samsung GT-I8160 Galaxy Ace 2 will receive the Jelly Bean update last in April – 22.04.2013. Next up we have the Samsung GT-I9070 Galaxy S Advance, which will receive the Android Jelly Bean update in February itself on 18.02.2013. The ever-popular Samsung Galaxy GT-I9100 Galaxy S II is expected to receive the Android Jelly Bean update in March, specifically on 03.03.2013.
Samsung’s first generation phablets, the Galaxy Note GT-N7000 will also receive the Android Jelly Bean update in March – 01.03.2012. The Samsung GT-P6200 Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus tablet will get the Jelly Bean update on 22.02.2013.
Since this information comes from Samsung Ukraine, it may be that the Android updates are specific to that region. But, we can expect the update to hit other parts of the world soon after.
Apart from updating the devices to Android 4.1.2, the update will also bring with it an updated Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, which will be more on the lines of the Samsung Galaxy S III.
