Reliance Jio is offering 20 percent more 4G data to users who purchase select LYF-branded smartphones. The company notes that this is a limited period offer and will be open still stocks last. The company also notes that it will be offering a one-year extended warranty alongside the additional data. This move by Jio should help it increase the sales of its LYF branded devices, and help it become more competitive against devices from other manufacturers.
Reliance is also expected to launch its DTH and Fiber To The Home (FTTH) services soon. Images of the company’s set top box have been leaked online and suggests that the company may offer a hybrid DTH service, something similar to what Airtel offers with Airtel Internet TV. Jio’s broadband services are already being tested in certain states and the company is expected to offer up to 100Mbps download speeds. There is also a possibility that the company may offer complementary data in a manner similar to the Welcome Offer it had when it launched its telecom services.
