The upcoming Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G is confirmed to have a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is rumoured to pack a 200MP primary sensor.

The Redmi Note 12 series will launch on January 5.

The Redmi Note 12 5G series launch in India has been confirmed by the brand to happen on January 5. This series will include three models – Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G models. Previously, leaks suggested that the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G will be equipped with a 200MP sensor had been doing the rounds. Now, the brand’s latest communication confirms that the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G will have a 50MP camera with a  Sony IMX766 sensor. 

Alvin Tse, the General Manager of Xiaomi India, shared sample camera shots taken with the help of the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G. This smartphone has been dubbed ‘Super Note’. The tweet also stated that the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G will have similar camera specifications to the version that launched in October in China, with the 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera sensor and support for optical image stabilisation (OIS).

Sumit Sonal, General Manager, Marketing, also tweeted about the capabilities of the upcoming smartphone’s camera. “The SONY #IMX766 on the #SuperNote captures more light = more details, which further = better photo quality. The sensor on this camera has captured a great deal of detail, including the person, the light inside the room, the shadows, and the fine details on the window,” he said.
