Oppo R7s announced, features 4GB RAM and 5.5-inch AMOLED display
HIGHLIGHTS

The Oppo R7s is now official, powered by Snapdragon 615 SoC and 32GB of on-board storage; launches to occur gradually, starting next month.

Oppo has added a fourth smartphone to its R7 lineup, after the R7, R7 Plus and the R7 lite. It is scheduled to launch next month in ten regions including the following countries — Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. The price of the phablet has not yet been announced.

The Oppo R7s features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The display has Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and supports gloved and wet touch input. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core SoC. There is 32GB of on-board storage, and 4GB of RAM. It has a hybrid microSD card slot, which supports either 128GB of additional storage, or a secondary SIM. The phone will support all major 4G bands.

At the back, the phone has a 13MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens, and phase-detection autofocus mechanism. There is an 8MP front-facing camera, with an f/2.4 aperture lens. There is a 3070mAh non-removable battery, with support for the company’s proprietary VOOC charging. Oppo claims that the phone will give you two hours of talktime when charged for just 5 minutes. Also, it claims that the large battery charges to 90% in just 50 minutes. Oppo says that the phone can run for almost 13 hours between charges.

Like other latest phones, the Oppo R7s runs on Android Lollipop v5.1 along with the company's custom UI, Color OS 2.1. The exterior of the phone is similar to other phones in the R7 series. It has a brushed metal alloy unibody design, but unlike the R7 Plus, does not feature a fingerprint sensor. The sleek body of the phone, at a width of just 6.95mm, is complemented by 2.2mm bezels on the sides of the display and the contoured 2.5D glass on top of it.

While Oppo has not announced if they are bringing the R7s to India, we will know more once the phone gets launched in the slated countries, next month.
